Arrochar Parish Church is situated in the small village of Arrochar which sits at the head of Loch Long in Argyll, Scotland. A congregation of the Church of Scotland, it welcomes everyone at its regular weekly worship each Sunday morning at 10.15 a.m.

A Very Special Church

To the folk of Arrochar the Parish Church is particularly special. By 1998 the congregation had dwindled to just a handful of people; the building was derelict, unsafe, and had been scheduled for demolition by the Church of Scotland.

Now the Church has been totally restored, most of the work being done voluntarily by local tradesmen working with materials bought with donations from local people. An Arrochar Parish Church Community Trust has been established. This Trust has taken a nineteen year lease of the building from the Church of Scotland General Trustees and has undertaken to keep the building in an excellent state of repair.

Not surprisingly with so much local enthusiasm, the congregation itself has grown dramatically. Each Sunday around sixty people meet to share in the Service and to enjoy the worship of God in their new and beautiful Church.

A Church which seemed to have no future at all is now a very active part of the life and community of Arrochar.
